When we die, we will be remembered by our loved ones, we will have photos and videos of our time here, and we will have some newspapers and public records with our names in it.
What happens when those who remember us die? What happens when the photos and videos become corrupted or left on a hard drive that is destroyed? What happens when the public records are eventually destroyed, even if it takes a thousand years?
All traces of us will completely cease to exist. It will be like we never existed at all.
Wow. That’s pretty heavy. Now what?
If it is true that everything about you will be forgotten, you must come to terms with the fact that your actions will be insignificant. This can make someone lose the will to live, or it can free them of the burden they are imposing on themselves to be significant.
Stop being so hard on yourself and figure out what you actually want to do with your life, rather than trying so hard to devote your life to a cause.
