Dehumanizing is unethical.

Ugly. Orange. Failed businessman.

These insults are not on a person’s character, but instead on their looks and money. Could you imagine insulting your family members based on the same criteria? Calling your cousin a loser for being ugly, how absurdly dehumanizing.

Those who dehumanize really tell more about themselves than the person they are insulting. They actually see certain people as subhuman, insulting them like they would an inanimate object. It is easy to see through this, and it undercuts their argument for disliking the person.

Similarly, these types comment on a murderer and instead of focusing on the ethics of their wrongdoings, they constantly talk about how short they are or how big their ears are. The murderer is still a human, and it is disgusting to treat them like an inanimate object.

Be critical of the person’s ethics and character, and never forget they are still a human just like you and I.
